Every year we visit schools, nature centers and museums throughout the Northeast presenting programs on birds of prey. Our presentations provide a unique learning experience for students of all ages while offering a practical alternative to expensive field trips. Each program is presented by a professional biologist and revolves around a display of live birds of prey.A wide range of topics are covered including ecology, the differences between hawks and owls, historical relationships of raptors with man, effects of pesticides on raptor populations, and conservation.
Your students will be captivated by the beauty and endless wonder of these often misunderstood hunters of the sky, while they learn about the role raptors play in the environment and the problems they face in our ever changing world.
In addition, conservation projects are discussed, and nest boxes designed for raptors, owl pellets and examples of equipment used in the ancient sport of falconry are displayed.
